On Wednesday, November 20 at 6 pm a party of 22 gathered in the Charcoal Room of the University Center for an Etiquette Dinner hosted by the McNair Scholars Program. A delicious 6 course dinner was prepared and served by Simply Superior Catering. John Frick, the Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life, joined us to talk about the finer points of dining etiquette. He presented a “Dining Etiquette Quiz” as a springboard for discussion on topics ranging from what to do about food stuck in your teeth to where to put your used napkin at the end of the meal. He emphasized the ability to converse with others in social settings as a predictor of career success.
Food for thought, and plenty of food elegantly served, made for a delicious, fun and informative evening!
